The reality is that most of us live in communities where there are few Jewish families. That's what makes Friday night services at the Mastic Beach Hebrew Center so special; Jews from throughout central Suffolk experience our friendly, warm, open atmosphere with fellow Jewish families.
The Mastic Beach Hebrew Center takes pride in providing a relaxed, family-friendly environment. It's fine if a small child makes a little noise or walks the aisles near mom or dad during services — we understand! Services start at 8:00pm are kept to an hour or less with much of it in English. Note: Once a month we hold a 7:15pm "Family Service." Please check our newsletter for the schedule.
Following each Friday service is an Oneg — a social hour filled with food and friendship. We welcome members to sponsor an Oneg to mark a special occasion such as a birthday or a wedding anniversary.
The kids go off with their peers to socialize and play during the Oneg. The young ones have games and toys. The older ones have videos and a Playstation. And the teens — too "cool" for it all — "hang out" in the lobby.
That's why the Mastic Beach Hebrew Center's mission statement is "Going to Temple shouldn't be a chore." We know that after joining us once or twice, you and your family will enjoy being a part of our unique Jewish experience. |
