Mastic Beach Rocks the Rummage!

A Message from our President
Robin Helner-Reich

WE ROCK!!  This past Sunday we had another successful rummage sale, pulling in over $1,000 for the Mastic Hebrew Center.  It certainly make all the hard work — and the aches and pains many of us suffered — well worth it.

While I hesitate saying “thank yous” on our website for fear that I may leave someone off, I can’t help but at least try.  So, thank you Nora, Maverick, Judith Swiss, Dan Siegel, Lew Wunderlich, Lew Morgenstern, Larry and Frane L. Helner, Sarah Reich, Kayla Salant, Morgan David, Paul David, Brian David, Gail David, Linda Rosen, and the many many more who helped make the day such a great success.  Whether you were there for an hour or for all 10, your help made a world of difference . . . a little “Tikkun Olam” in our little piece of this earth.

Dear Returning and Incoming Religious School Families,

The summer is a time for fun and relaxing for all, but we at the Mastic Beach Hebrew Center are already busy getting ready for the opening of the 2014-2015 Religious School year. The teaching staff works hard to develop and administer an age appropriate curriculum. The earlier we know the makeup of our classes the better we can plan. We are asking each family that is planning on enrolling students to fill out a registration form. It must be done each year so we know your intentions for that upcoming school year.

We have planned a full calendar for the 2014-2015 year, which includes Friday night services where classes will participate and Saturday morning services with Rabbi Altman leading the congregation and students. All this information will be available on this website and in our newsletter.

If you have any questions about this information or anything else related to Religious School, please do not hesitate to call me at 631-736-0754 or email me at
